Counting StarsAs I set off into the city to find you i realise just how quiet it is. Without you here beside me, comforting me along the way and keeping me safe wherever we went, all i can hear is my thoughts. Those thoughts like daggers in my back, draining all of the happiness and hope I had of ever finding you again. Walking further and further into the city the light seems to fade and the darkness continues to grow around me, the fog getting thicker and thicker with every step. Barely able to see now, I had to fumble hopelessly in the dark trying to find my way, and hoping that there might be the slightest chance of me getting out.
Blinded by a bright light, that had suddenly appeard out of the fog, I stood helplessly. A giant of a man stood in front of me, gazing down at me as if i was an ant. Compared to him, I was. Huge bulky shoulders, arms as thick as my body and legs like giant trees. He was not here to welcome me to the city. The last thing i heard was his fist cracking agains
The Calling...The Crisp, green grass was rustling at my feet whilst i was walking to 'The Meeting Place'. This seemed such a cheery place for such a horrible event. Flowers blossoming, the sun shining brightly and the birds singing to their hearts content. There wasn't a bad thing in sight. Except Him. Looking around i saw how run down the old place was. It wouldn't surprise me if it came down during the fight. Oh well, it was too late for that now. Before i had a chance to observe the beautiful scenery anymore he came flying at me, blades first. I just managed to jump out of the way in time. I had to find cover, and fast! All i coul
EasterRemember what you love,
you with sand in your teeth
and the feral burn of hunger
in your eyes.
God sends his regrets.
He made you grasping and slow,
in a late hour
when the wine washed low.
Remember what you love.
Fall to your knees in the toss
and the swell, quell
the appetite of the cold black sea.
Beg blessings for your home
and the salt-sick trees.
Reach what lies near:
the fat-faced child, the sweet-soft lamb;
tether the tantrum, trickle the blood.
Offer psalms to what is holy,
whisper the name of what you love
as it bobs in the bleak mad sea.
